Video is about the narrow and shameful mentality that the Indian population has.
It preaches that we live in a narrow-minded society and it’s high time that we
change, once and for all. But it encloses all this within a loosely written
mystery plot. The thriller genre doesn’t work well thanks to the incompetent
direction from Mikhil Musale - though it’s definitely a step up from Made
in China.
A
missing school teacher, Sajini Shinde (Radhika Madan), is presumed dead after she jumped off a
bridge into a river in an alleged suicide attempt. The trigger is a leaked
video of her, possibly with some explicit content that spreads
like wildfire.
The
way the male characters are portrayed is extremely realistic for the most part,
as it showcases their mentality and how judgemental they are. The film is about
how the mass perceives a woman when she does something that does not comply
with our narrow mentality. India is filled with conservative and judgemental
people and we don’t let people live their lives the way they want to, because
we’re always there to judge them and taunt them - especially women.
The
direction is average, the cinematography is excellent and gorgeous, and performances
are good for the most part with the minimal use of songs a plus point in this Dinesh Vijan production.
Sajni
Shinde Ka Viral Video should have been released on a streaming service instead
of in the theatres.
