From June 24 to July 5, Kolkata Centre for Creativity is presenting Learn Togetherness III at KCC fourth floor from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. This programme is to celebrate Pride Month by showcasing the art and cultural reflections of talented artists and performers from the LGBTIQKA++ community and its allies in India. The event will revolve around the captivating theme of 'What is in our gait? The Performative and Queer.' The programme is curated by multidisciplinary artist Sujoy Prasad Chatterjee.

Learn Togetherness provides arts and cultural opportunities to queer artists, artivists, and performers. It fosters connections between the community through the exchange and sharing of artistic skills, exhibitions, public screenings, performances, and panel discussions.

In the 2023 edition of Learn Togetherness, the theme What is in our gait? The Performative and Queer featured selected responses and opinions that addressed the aspect of the performative (if any) in the LGBTIQKA++ community.

The vibrant line-up of events, include: Engaging panel discussions featuring influential voices from the LGBTQ+ community and the performing arts industry; Inspiring film screenings that explore diverse narratives and perspectives; Captivating poetry reading sessions, showcasing the power of words and self-expression; Spectacular performances that celebrate the richness of queer art and culture and a captivating arts exhibition showcasing the creative expressions of talented artists.

Richa Agarwal, chairperson, KCC said, “By incorporating art, culture, and thoughtful discussions, our goal was to foster inclusivity, understanding, and appreciation. We are honoured to have Sujoy Prosad Chatterjee curating this edition, ensuring an experience that left a lasting impact on participants and audiences."

Reena Dewan, director, KCC said, “Everyone, regardless of their gender identities and sexual orientation engaged in this dialogue, decoded the notion of performative identities, and celebrated the transformative power of queer art and culture. The selected visual and performance artists presented their works, reflecting the diverse representations of gender and sexual identities, and challenging societal norms."
