Documentary movies are non-fiction films designed to record real life, historical events, or social issues.
Alternate cinema—often called parallel cinema or art-house cinema—is a film movement that serves as an alternative to mainstream, commercial movies.

India's most famous documentary films include Oscar winners like The Elephant Whisperers alongside acclaimed works like Writing with Fire and All That Breathes, capturing the nation's wildlife, journalism, and social fabric.

It was indeed a pleasure to be able to see wonderful cinema these last 2 days, curated by Barnali Roy and Indranil Sarkar.

We travelled from the Jungles of Congo, to the story of Nature vs Development through the eyes of Jilipibala to Rose Garden to Bidi makers of Sholapur, the biopic on filmmaker Sushil Majumdar and so many other areas of interest .

Congratulations to all whose films were selected for the Festival.
