He's a Marathi mulgaa from Nallasopara,
She's an elite Sobo wali girlie,
Love blossoms over reels and rap,
Chalo Goa...No, don't go there,
Their hangout turns in to a nightmare.

Thanks to the villain on the go,
More danger than Gabbar or Mogambo,
Yup, an unfriendly croc wreaks havoc,
Even as Miss Sobo and Mr. Sopara run amok.

Bejoy Nambiar's Tu Yaa Main is truly a croc-o-doodle-doo experience. It is actually two different movies neatly stitched together as one. The first hour is typical Gen-Z faltugiri with yo yo rap and Insta reels galore. It's quite random and largely irrelevant to the core plot. The film picks up only when the CGI crocodile makes his grand entry...

Filled with amusing references to Bollywood's tryst with crocs from Khoon Bhari Maang to Gangaa Jamunaa Saraswathi (both 1988), Nambiar cleverly weaves two lovely '80s songs in the narrative. Particularly, the Yaara Dildara (1991) number used as the ringtone forms a high interval block.

Technically okey dokey with an apparent low budget, Tu Yaa Main still manages to engage and thrill you at right places. Adarsh Gourav, always a fine actor, finally gets his solo theatrical film to boast. He is earnest as ever. The pretty Shanaya Kapoor, in her second outing, shows promise just like she did in her debut Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan (2025). The girl just needs that one big break, which can elevate her to the biggie wiggie league. Is Kjo listening?!!!
