Very few actors in Hindi cinema could successfully blur the lines between acting and being a star and not remain compartmentalised. Sanjeev Kumar was one such fine actor for who could blend himself into any given role, almost making it impossible anyone else doing that role. On his birth anniversary which just went by, we remember him through five of his iconic performances. Born on July 9, 1938, Sanjeev Kumar indeed left an indelible mark on Indian cinema with his extraordinary performances:
Sholay (1975) - As Thakur Baldev Singh, his portrayal of a courageous and righteous retired police officer seeking revenge against a notorious bandit is iconic. His performance beautifully balanced strength and vulnerability, especially in scenes dealing with his personal tragedy.
Koshish (1972) - Playing the mute Haricharan, Sanjeev Kumar's subtle and deeply emotive performance spoke volumes without uttering a single word. His ability to convey profound emotions through expressions and body language is a testament to his exceptional acting skills.
