For actor Rahul Sharma, being part of theatre and acting in plays has helped shape his career. The actor, who has been part of shows like Swaraj and Laal Ishq, says that theatre has acted as a foundation for his acting career.
“Theatre has given me direction in life, theatre has groomed me like anything and I think I am an actor because of theatre. The workshops have given me everything, I still remember my time at NSD, and how one play changed my destiny,” he says.
He adds, “I pursued acting as a career because of the theatre. Theatre is the beginning and the end of me, you can say that my roots are there. Theatre has given me lots of strength to develop my confidence and learn the skill of acting, it has given me everything that was needed as an actor. Bodywork, mental work, a lot of different kinds of activities which made me learn the craft of not only acting, in life in general, you need.”
