The curtain raiser of Banglar Jatio Gorbho was held on February 16 at the Scrapyard, South City. The event is the beginning of a new celebration as all National Award winners from Bengal will be felicitated at the glittering ceremony of Banglar Jatiyo Gorbho on February 26. An initiative by Angel Creations & Ideation from Sangita Sinha, she has taken this responsibility to bring about change in the Bengali cinema audiences.
Sangita, the founder
of Angel Creations said, "I know that I will have to face many hurdles but
I will cross those hurdles. This award is only for Bengal and all those
Bengalis who have received the National Award over the years. I am doing this
on behalf of all the Bengalis for their pride. I hope to hold this awards ceremony
every year."
The event was
graced by National Award-winning directors like Srijit Mukherjee, Ashok Vishwanathan,
Indradip Dasgupta and actors like Eklavya Khanna, Adolina Ganguly, Abhirup Ghosh, Rahul
Mukherjee, Samrat Mukherjee, Kaushik Chakraborty, Shyamal Dutta among many
others.
Srijit Mukherjee
said, "This is a new initiative and I am delighted to be a part of this
venture as an awardee.”
The evening also
saw the release of the theme song of Banglar Jatio Gorbho which has lyrics and
composition by Sreelekha Banerjee, music by Manish Chakraborty and is sung by Kusumita
and Sujoy Bhowmick.
