The grand launch of the Bengali streaming app Tranzistorapp.com took place at the Press Club, Kolkata. Leading cultural stalwarts like Jagannath Bose and Urmimala Bose were part of the event. Singer Swagatalakshmi Dasgupta sent a voice message as she could not make it to the launch.

The premium interactive audio platform features top voice artists using handpicked content across multiple languages and genres, narrating or enacting stories by popular Bengali authors across all possible genres. With the tagline “Aath theke aashe shunte bhalobashi” you can tune into famous tales and audio plays ranging from classics, folklore, ghost and children’s short stories to Tagore and adult contemporary novels. The brainchild of three probashi Bengalis, Gautam Sarkar, Subhrojit Chakroborty, and Manoj Chatterjee, the app was developed by a team of software developers across North America and Bangalore who have been working with major MNCs across the two continents. The company which is based out of Mumbai has over 90 authors and publishers on board who can translate over 1000 hours of streaming audio content across all genres globally. This is their endeavour to keep Bengalis connected globally with the rich culture and heritage of the state.
