Calcutta Girls' College took up the noble initiative of felicitating the pioneers who contributed to the institution’s development on International Women's Day. The college trust, the women's cell in association with the IQAC organised the felicitation programme on March 11 to observe Women's Day. The former principals of Calcutta Girls' College, Dr. Mira Bhowmick (1982-1994), Dr. Ajita Acharya (1997-2003) were felicitated on the occasion.
Many eminent members were present among the former professors and governing body including Prof. Deepa Mukhopadhyay (GB Member), Dr. Reba Sircar (Department of Bengali, 1975-2002), and retired professor in Urdu Dr. Yasmin Akhter. The esteemed guests recounted their days spent within the campus and their various contributions towards its development and showed their appreciation at the progress made by the institution which is 60 years old.

forgotten by the institution, but their college makes it a point to remember
and honour them. The event was a grand success.
