Producer Mohammed Nagaman Lateef sounds delighted talking about his latest venture that will be travelling to the Cannes Film Festival this year. The production titled ‘The Rage’ stars Adnan Khan and Roshni Kapoor. If things go according to plan, Roshni, who is debuting with the film, will be going to Cannes to represent the film and the team comprising Iconic productions, RR entertainment and Mark studios.
“We all are happy and excited that our film and Roshni Kapoor are going to Cannes. Hope the international audience will like our film. This is huge for us. Getting an opportunity to showcase your work at such a prestigious festival means a lot,” says Nagaman, who had earlier bankrolled 7 Album Songs and ‘Love X Society’ and a few web shows.
Last year
Shivangi Joshi couldn’t go to Cannes for her film ‘Love X Society’ with Aditya
Khurana produced by Nagaman, due to the lockdown. “We were sad but had to
accept the reality. The movie was later released on MX Player,” he adds.
Talking about
‘The Rage’, he says, “The movie has a social message. It is all about women
empowerment and highlights the issues faced by the LGBTQI+ community. The
entire film is filled with interesting twists and turns. Adnan plays a negative
character, while Roshni plays a girl who faces all problems in life with her
never-give-up attitude. Both Adnan and Roshni have performed really well.”
Actor Nishant Malkani was supposed to be a part of the film too, but later had
to opt out given his prior commitments.
The film was
shot around Goa and Karnataka for 12 days and in Pune too. A few portions
were also shot in Uttarakhand. Happy with how things are turning out,
Nagaman’s future plan is to back good content. “I want to produce more movies
with a good social message. Along with entertaining the audience, it is
important to also bring them face to face about things that need their
attention,” he adds. Next in line from Nagaman are a few web series and albums.
