North meets South in this delightful rom com with the lead pair's
crackling chemistry adding the required tadka for a wholesome entertainer
Param Sachdev (Siddharth Malhotra) is a charming munda from Delhi whose
only aim in life is to make it big with that one idea which will make his start
up zoom to the top. Alas all he manages is to divest his long suffering father
(Sanjay Kapoor) of his wealth.
When Shekhar (Abhishek Banerjee in special appearance) pitches his
soulmate app idea to Param, the latter actually takes off to God's Own Country
with BFF Jaggi (Manjot) in tow to the homestay run by Sundari Pillai (Jahnvi)
his perfect soulmate suggested by the app's algorithm.
It's only a matter of time before Param falls for Sundari, but he hadn't
reckoned with the fact that she might have a fiancée (Siddharth Shankar)
waiting in the wings. The hostile village people making life hell for him with
his father landing up only makes the situation worse for him. Does he manage to
win Sundari's love forms the rest of the story.
Shot in picturesque Kerala, showcasing the rich culture and heritage of
the southern state Param Sundari has some lovely music by Sachin-Jigar, with
the soulful "Pardesiya" standing out. Sadly the music turns a bane in
the film with a song popping up every five minutes, dragging the run time.
The lead pair looks like a million bucks and compliment each other both
in the acting and emotional stakes. A feel good romantic comedy that you can
enjoy with your family. The film is replete with SRK vibes from DDLJ and Dil Se to Chennai Express.
