Kolkata: In
honour of Kargil Vijay Diwas and Operation Sindoor, Sakman Bhagya Foundation
and Magadh Production organized a memorable Nari Shakti Samman ceremony and a
national fashion show in Howrah, on Saturday evening. In this grand colorful
ceremony organized at Fortune Park Panchvati Hotel in Santragachi, Howrah,
wives of many military officers and soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the
Kargil war were honoured with Nari Samman Award. Many senior officials of
various departments including Indian Army, Railways were present in the
program. Ashutosh Kumar, the organizer of the program and director of Sakman
Bhagya Foundation, said that in the presence of eminent personalities, about
100 young female participants from various states including Bengal showed their
charm by cat-walking on the ramp in the fashion show, which was the center of
attraction.
Disabled
children also displayed their talent in the fashion show, which was appreciated
by all.
The special
thing was that the wives of the soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the
Kargil war also walked the ramp with the disabled children, which was
appreciated by all and the entire venue echoed with thunderous applause.
Kumar
informed that this was the fifth edition of the National Fashion Show. This has
happened for the first time in Kolkata. Earlier, this fashion show was
organized in Delhi four times. Coal India Limited, NIFT, FDDI, PC Chandra
Group, Adidas, HCG Cancer Care and other institutions supported the program.
