On April 23rd, Meyera Group hosted the highly anticipated
premiere of "Fatol," a captivating short film written and acted by
Moumita Ghosh and directed by Abhishek Ganguli and created by Cinema for a
Cause at the esteemed Wisdom Tree Café. True to its mission, Meyera Group
provided a platform for ordinary women to showcase their exceptional talent.
The evening commenced with the official release
of the film, followed by a thought-provoking panel discussion moderated by
Upasana Sarkar. The panel featured distinguished personalities from the film
and literature fields, including Paramita Munsi, Sanjay Mishra, Trishna Basak,
Abhishek Ganguli and Moumita Ghosh.
There was a minute silence observed by the
entire cast and audience as a tribute to the Kashmir tragedy. It was only after
that the 24 mins film was then screened. The audience was thoroughly
enthralled, applauding spontaneously. The cast and crew were felicitated during
the show, acknowledging their outstanding efforts.
The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast,
including Bikash Bose, Subhomoy De, Abhijit Palchoudhri, Aparajita
Mukhopadhyay, Jojan Das Adhikari, Rajasree Lahiri, Moumita Bera, Supti Sarkar, Akansha Acharya, Sunanda Das Chakraborty and Sharanya Roy with Moumita Ghosh and Priyanka Kar delivering
outstanding performances as the lead characters.
Fatol marks a significant step of creative
collaboration between the Meyera group and Cinema for a Cause in the quest to
showcase new acting talents through the power of independent Cinema.
