· Tuli Batik & Natural Dyes by Esha Mukherjee (Research Scholar, Textile Design Department,

Kala Bhavana, Visva Bharati), showcasing the evolution of Batik from craft to art.

· Alpona Traditions & Live Demonstration by Sudakshina Ghosh.

· Tagore Performance Traditions by Purnima Ghosh.

· Dance Performance: Aesthetics of Tagore by Aindrila Ghosh and Team.

3:00 PM – 6:00 PM | Sartorial Identity, Khadi & Folk Narratives

· Sriniketan and its Pioneering Work in Artistic Crafts (1920s-1930s) by Uma Das Gupta

(Former Research Professor, Social Science Division, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata),

tracing Sriniketan’s contribution to the artistic crafts movement in Santiniketan.

· Thakur Barir Saaj Poshak by Reba Som (Historian & Writer), featuring a choreographed

fashion show by Neelay Sengupta, exploring colonial modernity and Brahmo dress codes in

Bengal.

· Spinning Weaving Songs: Folk Tales of Bengali Female Spinners narrated by Sangeeta

Datta, with a musical performance by Dipannita Acharya and Band (Folk Foundation).

The performances are curated by Dr. Sangeeta Datta.
