In a heartwarming cultural event, a teenager, Shahana, made her debut in Rabindrasangeet, showcasing her deep passion for music and a talent for the timeless compositions of Rabindranath Tagore at Birla Academy Auditorium recently. The recital marked an important milestone in Shahana's musical journey, as she brought the soulful melodies of Rabindra Sangeet to the City of Joy, along with the world renowned Rabindrasangeet exponent Manoj Murali Nair.
Hailing from Mumbai, Shahana has been singing since a very young age. As a Bengali, she wants to get rooted in Bengali art and culture. Her love for Rabindranath Tagore’s compositions has always been a driving force in her musical endeavors. Shahana has honed her skills under the guidance of her mentor, Manoj Murali Nair, and this recital was a testament to her sincere efforts to grasp the intricacies of this genre.
The evening was filled with the exquisite sounds of music, as Shahana, in the presence of her mentor, beautifully rendered some of Tagore’s most cherished songs, captivating the audience with her melodious voice and perfect renditions.
