The Senate Hall at The Club became a haven of devotion as 'Maate Lakshmi Maate', a soulful bhajan honouring Goddess Lakshmi, was launched in an atmosphere filled with reverence and spirituality. The bhajan, performed by Meenal Nigam—a yogini and healer—interweaves Lalita Goenka’s profound lyrics with Sanjeev Kohli’s stirring composition, creating a tribute that deeply moved the audience.
The launch saw an impressive gathering of luminaries, including Sonu Nigam, Agam Kumar Nigam, Sanjay Tandon, Padmashri Anup Jalota, Smita Thackeray, Shamir Tandon, Nikhil Kamath, Rabbani Mustafa, and Sonu Shrivastava. Agam Kumar Nigam extended his heartfelt congratulations to Sanjeev Kohli, describing his composition as “immortal.” Reflecting on his sister’s spiritual journey, Sonu Nigam shared, “Meenal’s voice holds a unique healing energy. 'Maate Lakshmi Maate' captures that essence beautifully, with Lalita Goenka’s heartfelt words and Sanjeev Kohli’s melody transforming it into a sacred offering.”
Distinguished journalists such as Soumya Vajpayee, Debarati Sen, Chirantana Bhatt, Chaitanya Padukone, Kumar Mohan, and Dr. (Hon) Anusha Srinivasan Iyer were also present, witnessing the bhajan's formal unveiling. A two-minute rendition enveloped the hall, creating an atmosphere of tranquility and devotion.
Padmashri Anup Jalota, a revered figure in devotional music, noted, “This song serves as a bridge to the divine.” Sanjay Tandon echoed these sentiments, adding, “Music like *Maate Lakshmi Maate* transcends boundaries, radiating pure devotion to all who hear it.”
