There's nothing that Piyush Mishra--one of the most celebrated Indian artists--cannot do. Yet, the actor, singer, writer, and composer wants to do everything and push the envelope of age and art. Piyush Mishra announced his latest international music tour 'UdanKhatola' with his acclaimed band Ballimaaraan at a special curtain-raiser event, held in the grand Bikaner House in New Delhi on Monday.

Piyush Mishra and his band Ballimaaraan were seen arriving at the venue in the unique UdanKhatola tour bus—a mobile hub for impromptu jam sessions, intimate conversations, and stories that’ll house their musical journey throughout the tour. This was followed by a special insightful conversation with the legend, during which Piyush Mishra spoke about his heart, art, career, and cult.

Piyush Mishra said being a rockstar at the age of 62 was a blessing as he continues to enthrall a generation of fans with his music.

"People are calling me 'Rockstar at 62' but to be honest, my only intention is to keep working and creating. I am trying to leave behind all this work to repay my debts to this world. I don’t want to get stuck in this loop of success. The fact that I am launching my debut album, and going on this tour is all in the direction of wanting to relentlessly work hard.

"The best part is that I see a lot of young people in the audience when I perform. I knew I was acting and writing poetry to leave behind something for the younger generation but the way they have reacted to my singing, I know today I am singing for them as well. I am deeply moved," Piyush Mishra said

Starting in November, the crowd-puller band will kick off their grand UdanKhatola tour, taking their unique music to different parts of India and then expanding to three more countries, including Canada, the US, and the UK. By the end of it, Piyush Mishra will launch his debut album of the same name.

The tour is curated by Rahul Gandhi, Founder & CEO of Tamboo Entertainment, who said that his idea behind Ballimaaraan has always been about making the audience experience something new and unique.

"The name of this tour is itself an ode to Piyush Mishra and his genius mind, which is always restless, a flying machine, soaring freely through the realms of life. It reflects his insatiable thirst for exploration and constant endeavour to experiment with his craft. This tour is a manifestation of that flight - a journey through his thoughts, memories, and craft," Rahul Gandhi added.

The UdanKhatola tour, which will span over 15 cities across India, will begin on November 9 in Kolkata and then travel to cities like Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Indore, Bhopal, Pune, Thane, Raipur, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Gurugram, Chandigarh, Lucknow and Kanpur among others. It is curated by Tamboo Entertainment and produced jointly with Thinking Hats.

Beyond the music, the UdanKhatola tour will also serve a larger purpose. The band will be partnering with a local NGO as part of their "Play for Paws" initiative, focused on the welfare of stray dogs in each of the cities they perform in. By collaborating with these organizations, the band aims to raise awareness and support initiatives that provide shelter, food, and medical care for stray animals across India.

Ballimaaraan, a musical genre known for its unique musical style, enjoys a loyal fan following due to Piyush Mishra’s soul-stirring lyrics, the band's distinct music, and the inherent satirical edge found in songs like “Aarambh,” “Husna,” and “Ghar.”
