Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty, who made his acting debut with the art film Mrigayaa (1976), will soon be honoured with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award. His daughter-in-law, Madalsa Sharma Chakraborty says, "The Dadasaheb Phalke Award for Mithun Dad is no surprise because we all know he has been the most deserving film personality for this great honour for many years. This is a significant achievement. We are all very proud and happy for him. On October 8th, the President of India will honour Dad, and it’s such a proud moment for us. The whole family will celebrate; we are going to cherish this moment for the rest of our lives."
Madalsa, who has been part of many films and television shows, shares how Mithun has inspired her in her work. She says, "My father-in-law is a great achiever. One could write a never-ending book on his life and work. He is a workaholic who is unstoppable and undefeatable. He has a fan following throughout the globe and has been a trendsetter, whether it’s his dance moves or his style. He has always been known for being different. For us, he is God. No words can describe the charisma he possesses. He is a man with a golden heart."
She also adds, "The best advice one can draw from him is: work is worship, and stay grounded no matter how much you achieve."
