What on earth has happened to Vikram Bhatt who used to enthrall us with films like ‘Raaz’, ‘1920’, ‘Kasoor’ etc. His last few releases has been BO duds and not worth a mention too. ‘Bloody Ishq’ falls in the latter category, so we will spare the readers a long review. Well, let’s make it quick!
This Mahesh Bhatt lacklustre 138-minute thriller-horror is a tried and tired formula building on predictable twists, predictable mansion (possibly the same was used in his earlier film ‘1920- Horrors of the Heart’) and predictable creaking doors with predictable dim lighting.
After Neha’s (Avika Gor) near-drowning incident, resulting in her memory loss, she and her husband Romesh (Vardhaan Puri) try to build their relationship once again by shifting to a secluded mansion on a small island in Scotland. As soon as she sets foot there, Neha is subject to eerie happenings around her. Enter her ‘best friend’ Ayesha (Jeniffer Piccinato) who tries to help her solve the mystery of the hauntings in the mansion. But all is not what it seems.
Avika Gor tries hard to express herself but seems bored with the proceedings. Ditto for Vardhaan Puri too. Jeniffer Piccinato delivers her dialogues without any change in her tone. Rahul Dev must have done this film for free (he was there in ‘1920 - Horrors of the Heart’).
The music is lazy and the VFX are howlarious. The film is a ‘horror’endous torture and a laughable thriller.
Caution: Please watch at your own peril.
